Operatic roles include Albert in Britten's Albert HerringLe Prince Charmant in

Massenet's Cendrillon, Mosquito/Schoolmaster in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen, Dr. Caius in Vaughan Williams' Sir John in Love, Raflafla in Offenbach’s Mesdames des la Halle and Tommy from Stephen McNeff’s Banished. Opera Scenes excerpts include William Laud in Margaret CatchpoleRinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Nemorino in L’elixir d’amore and Ferrando in Cosí fan tutte.

 

Justin also enjoys singing as an oratorio soloist and has performed works such as Handel's Messiah, Haydn’s Creation and Nelson MassMozart's Requiem and Vesperae solennes de confessore as well as Mendelsoh's Elijah, Puccini's Messa di Gloria and Bob Chilcott's Requiem. He was recently fortunate enough to be involved in the World Premiere of Philip Sawyers’ new oratorio Mayflower on the Sea of Time at Worcester Cathedral with the English Symphony Orchestra.

Justin is a Garsington Alvarez Young Artist (2024) based in London and Birmingham. He has recently achieved notable success in various opera companies across England. In the summer of 2024 Justin was part of Garsington Opera's Le nozze di Figaro in the chorus and was part of the Green Theatre recital series. In 2023, Justin was thrilled to be part of the Grange Park Opera chorus for their 2023 season singing in the chorus of Tristan and Isolde and playing the role of Roberti in Tosca. In 2022, Justin made his Opera Holland Park debut playing the role of Dr. Caius with the British Youth Opera in their Production of Sir John in Love. He looks forward to returning to the British Youth Opera for their semi-staged production of Peter Grimes where he will be making his role debut as Bob Boles at Cadogan Hall and Saffron Hall.

 

Justin is currently studying at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (RBC) with Christopher Turner and is grateful to be supported with a scholarship. So far in his studies, he has taken part in many of RBC’s opera productions. In addition, he has performed in the RBC VoxBox recital series, presenting curated repertoire ranging from Baroque composers like Purcell to 20th-century American composers such as Theodore Chanler. He also represented RBC in the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier Bursary Prize in 2021 and won the Norma Procter Song Prize.
